About the RoleBlue Titan is seeking a professional Recording & Mixing Engineer to work with our creative studio on an independent contractor basis in Toronto, Ontario.

The engineer will operate the studio during scheduled client sessions and provide professional recording and audio production support.

The ideal candidate is technically skilled, reliable, organized, qualified and comfortable working independently.

Responsibilities

- Record vocals and instruments
- Operate Universal Audio Apollo and UAD equipment
- Set up microphones and professional recording chains
- Manage gain staging and signal flow
- Record, edit and organize sessions
- Perform vocal editing, comping and tuning
- Provide vocal production support when required
- Mix tracks when contracted to provide mixing services
- Prepare stems and sessions for mastering
- Maintain organized project files and backups
- Troubleshoot audio, software and equipment issues
- Communicate professionally with artists, producers and clients
- Protect confidential client information and recordings
- Maintain professional studio standards
- Follow all Blue Titan studio policies and security procedures

Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in professional audio recording
- Strong knowledge of microphone techniques, gain staging and signal flow
- Experience with professional digital audio workstations such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, FL Studio or equivalent
- Strong vocal recording and editing skills
- Understanding of mixing and audio processing
- Ability to troubleshoot audio equipment, software and technical issues
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and responsibly
- Professional conduct when working with artists, clients and collaborators





Preferred Experience
- Experience with Universal Audio Apollo and UAD equipment
- Experience recording rap and R&B; vocals
- Experience with vocal production
- Experience working with independent artists and creators
- Experience in professional recording studio environments
- Experience with session preparation, file organization and backup procedures

Compensation$50–$60 CAD per hour This is an independent contractor position. The initial contractor rate will be determined based on experience, demonstrated technical ability and successful completion of the hiring process.

Background & Safety ScreeningBecause this position may involve access to a private home-based studio environment, selected candidates may be required to complete appropriate identity verification and criminal/background screening, subject to applicable law and with the candidate's consent. Blue Titan maintains strict requirements regarding studio access, client privacy, equipment security and unauthorized guests.

Studio Environment & SecurityThis position involves working in a professional home-based creative studio in Toronto, Ontario.

The studio address will not be publicly provided and will only be shared with candidates who progress to the appropriate stage of the hiring process.





Because the studio is located within a private residence, all contractors are expected to maintain strict professional boundaries and comply with Blue Titan's studio security requirements.

Studio access requirements include

- No unauthorized guests.
- No sharing, publishing or distributing the studio address.
- No access to private areas of the residence.
- No photographing or recording private areas of the residence or household members.
- No personal use of Blue Titan equipment, software, client files or studio resources.
- No copying, transferring, downloading or retaining client recordings for personal use or outside projects.
- No posting, distributing or using client recordings, photographs, videos or other materials without written authorization.
- No disclosure of confidential client information, Blue Titan business information, passwords, security information or other protected materials.
- All studio equipment and property must be treated with professional care.
- The studio must be properly secured when the contractor leaves.
- All Blue Titan privacy, confidentiality, equipment and security policies must be followed.

Studio access is provided strictly for authorized Blue Titan business purposes and does not provide access to the private residence beyond the designated studio/work area. Failure to comply with applicable Blue Titan policies may result in removal of studio access and other action under the applicable contractor agreement and applicable law.
