Junior Professional – Impact Assessment
Join us as a Junior Professional – Impact Assessment in Halifax, working within interdisciplinary teams in GHD’s Natural Resources & Impact Assessment business group. Projects span mining, coastal infrastructure and renewable energy clients across Eastern Canada.
Responsibilities
- Participate in baseline surveys, including groundwater and surface water sampling.
- Collect and analyze data from standard sources, manage ecological databases, and prepare technical reports.
- Organize and prepare complex documents such as environmental impact assessments, permit applications and monitoring and management plans.
- Gather information and draft standard requests for bid solicitation, RFPs and RFTs on the requester side.
- Assist intermediate and senior colleagues with client and customer relationship management via sales or client systems.
- Participate in a community of practice to build expertise in a defined area of consulting.
- Execute project work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals.
- Follow the organization’s HSE policies and procedures to identify and mitigate environmental and safety risks,
and advise team members on safe working practices.
- Build personal capabilities through assessment, training, coaching, and pursuing relevant professional accreditation; maintain knowledge of technology, regulations and industry best practices via ongoing education.
What you will bring to the team
- Bachelor’s degree in an environmental discipline (master’s preferred). A college diploma in wildlife management or a related field combined with relevant experience may be considered equivalent.
- 0–2 years of professional experience in impact assessment.
- Good knowledge of provincial and federal environmental legislation.
- Solid technical writing skills.
- Valid driver’s licence and vehicle.
- Availability for occasional short‑term travel.
