Recruiter (Talent Acquisition)
Who We Are
At Guardteck Security Services, we don't just protect people and property — we build trust, one interaction at a time. We are a fast-moving, high-energy organization operating at the intersection of safety, service, and community. Our people are our greatest asset, and that belief drives everything we do. If you thrive in an environment where no two days look the same, where change is constant and pace is relentless, and where what you do genuinely matters — keep reading.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a driven, people-first Recruiter to join our team and help us grow our workforce with the same care, precision, and intention that we put into serving our clients. This is not a transactional order-taker role. This is a role for a talent advisor — someone who sees recruiting as a strategic lever, not just a pipeline function.
You will own the full recruiting lifecycle across both salaried professional roles and high-volume hourly positions, operating simultaneously across multiple talent segments with urgency, adaptability, and heart. You will also play a meaningful role in the onboarding experience, ensuring every new Guardteck team member starts their journey feeling welcomed, prepared, and connected to our culture and values from day one.
What You'll Do
Full-Cycle Recruiting — Salaried & Hourly Roles
- Manage concurrent salaried and high-volume hourly requisitions, balancing speed with quality at every stage
- Own the full recruiting cycle — sourcing, screening, interviewing, offering, and closing — across multiple talent segments
- Evaluate candidates on potential, adaptability, and cultural fit, not just credentials
- Deliver a consistent, on-brand candidate experience from first contact to first day
Proactive Sourcing & Talent Pipeline Building
- Build and sustain a multi-channel pipeline using referrals, alumni, past applicants, and direct sourcing — so we're always ahead of demand
- Nurture talent communities and keep prospective candidates warm long before a role opens
- Use market intelligence and labor data to source strategically and advise hiring managers with foresight, not just reaction
- Tap into niche channels — professional networks, community groups, and social media — to reach candidates beyond the job boards
Hiring Events & Community Outreach
- Plan and participate in job fairs, virtual hiring events, and Guardteck-hosted open houses
- Build and maintain partnerships with colleges, universities, and vocational programs to develop early-career pipelines
- Engage academic career centres, co-op coordinators, and student associations to create touchpoints well ahead of graduation
- Connect with newcomer organizations, military transition programs,
and community employment partners to broaden and diversify our talent reach
- Represent Guardteck externally as a brand ambassador — showing up with energy, authenticity, and pride in what we do
Stakeholder Partnership
- Build consultative, trusted relationships with hiring managers across security operations, divisions, and corporate teams
- Advise leaders on market realities, candidate profiles, and compensation — as a talent expert, not an order-taker
- Contribute to workforce planning discussions with data-backed insights that help the business stay ahead of its talent needs
Onboarding Support
- Coordinate pre-boarding and onboarding logistics — background screenings, documentation, orientation scheduling, and new hire check-ins
- Partner with HR and operations to deliver a warm, organized, and values-connected start for every current team member
- Gather new hire feedback and share insights to continuously strengthen how we welcome people to Guardteck
Process & Data Ownership
- Keep candidate records current and accurate in the ATS at every stage of the process
- Track key metrics — time-to-fill, source effectiveness, offer acceptance, and quality of hire — and use the data to keep improving
- Ensure all recruiting activity meets employment law, privacy requirements, and Guardteck's commitment to fair and inclusive hiring
What We're Looking For Experience & Knowledge
- 2+ years of recruiting experience, ideally in a high-volume, fast-paced environment (security, logistics, facilities, hospitality, or related industries are a strong asset)
- Experience recruiting across multiple employment types — both hourly and salaried populations
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple requisitions simultaneously without dropping the ball on quality or candidate experience
- Experience planning or attending hiring events, career fairs, or campus recruitment activities
- Exposure to onboarding processes and coordination activities is a strong plus
Skills & Capabilities Recruiting is evolving, and so must our recruiter. We are looking for someone who embodies the shift from transactional processor to strategic orchestrator.
- Relationship builder: You know how to earn trust quickly with candidates, hiring managers, colleagues, and community partners alike
- Adaptable & resilient: Change doesn't rattle you — it energizes you
- Organized & detail-oriented: You can manage complexity without losing accuracy
- Data-informed: You are comfortable using ATS data, sourcing analytics, and market insights to inform decisions
- Human-first mindset: You understand that behind every resume is a real person making an important career decision, and you treat every interaction accordingly
- Community-minded: You see the value in showing up beyond the job boards — in classrooms, community centres, industry and campus events — to find the right people where they are
- Curious & growth-oriented: You stay on top of best practices in talent acquisition and are eager to develop your craft
The typical hiring range for this position is from $60,000 to $70,000 annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. Our Core Values in Action
At Guardteck, our values aren't decorative. They are the standard to which we hold ourselves every day. As our Recruiter, you will be expected to live them in every hire you make:
