Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to tailor personalized care plans.
- Take X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories
- Follow strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination and ensure safety for patients and staff.
- Monitor vital signs and recognize signs of medical emergencies or health concerns requiring further attention.
- Support pediatric dentistry procedures by creating a friendly environment for young patients and managing their specific needs with patience and care.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality during all documentation review and communication processes.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in a general setting with familiarity in dental assisting procedures.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical coding standards.
- Proficiency with Abeldent is an asset.
- Hands-on experience with chairside assisting during various dental procedures in a rapid-paced environment.
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry techniques to create a positive experience for young patients.
