Compass Rose Care
Calgary
Compass Rose Care is a "boots-on-the-ground", registered nurse-led private home care company serving Calgary and the surrounding area. We are in an active growth phase and building a team that reflects our high standard of care: clinically informed, professionally grounded, and genuinely invested in the people we serve.
We are currently hiring Registered Health Care Aides for 3 areas of the city with different targeted clients:
Client 1: NW Calgary
- Complex care assignment in NW/W Calgary.
- Availability needed for regular shift assignment on Tuesday and Friday mornings. Shifts run from 9:00 a.m.to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Fridays
- You will work alongside an experienced team and have access to clinical supervision through our nursing staff. This is a complex physical care assignment for a client living with a spinal cord injury. The work requires technical skill, good clinical awareness, and the ability to take direction from the client while working within your scope. You will be working in a home environment with a family present. The client has dogs. Comfort around animals is required.
- The successful applicant will also be added to our casual pool for other clients in the NW (ability to pick up around the city if the successful applicant is interested in doing so)
- Based on performance, flexibility & personality fit - all of our positions could result in regular hours
Clients 2 & 3: Downtown Calgary (reg. client) & Deep SE (reg. client & casual)
- We're looking for a caregiver for a client with significant sensory sensitivities, including severe migraines. The right person is soft-spoken, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a quiet, low-stimulation home. Friendly, not chatty; Strong domestic skills, including full weekly meal prep, laundry, and housekeeping; Understanding of migraine triggers and sensory sensitivities (light, sound, smell, noise); Takes initiative and works well with minimal supervision; Own reliable vehicle, needed for appointments down the road. Immunization requirements are non-negotiable for this client - including annual influenza and COVID vaccines.
- Availability needed for regular shift assignment on Monday and Friday mid-day. Shifts run from 11:00 a.m.to 3:00 p.m. (downtown NW)
- We also need someone who is able to see another client in the deep SE (by South Health Campus) on Monday and Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
(preferably same person as for the mid-day client)
- SE client living alone in an Independent Living Building with advanced dementia, supported by home care. The right person is warm, emotionally intelligent, and can read the room, someone who can joke around on a good day and shift gears calmly on a hard one; Experienced with dementia care, including re-approach and redirect techniques; Comfortable adjusting tone and approach based on the client's mood in the moment; Patient, flexible, and steady with routine changes; Same easygoing, soft-spoken personality
- Based on availability, performance, flexibility & personality fit - all of our positions could result in regular hours
What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who brings genuine professional maturity to their work. That means good instincts, sound judgment, and the self-awareness to know the difference between what you can handle independently and when to pick up the phone.
