We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various nursing environments, including nursing homes, hospitals, and clinic settings. As an RPN, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, supporting individuals across diverse age groups and medical conditions, including pediatric patients and our Family Health Organization (FHO) practices.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive patient care by assessing needs under the direction of physicians.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed while ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Conduct vital signs, administer injections, immunization management, and specimen collection/testing.
- Maintain accurate medical records using electronic health record systems such as Ocean and Telus PS Suites EMR.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health management and treatment options and follow-ups.
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms and medical supplies/equipment.
- Sterlization of medical tools/equipment.
Qualifications
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Completion of an approved Practical Nursing program.
- Minimum 1 year experience in a family practice or clinical setting preferred.
- CPR Certification - BLS Certified
- Familiarity with paediatric primary care and/or family practice environments is an asset.
- Experience with electronic health record systems such as Telus PS Suites is an asset.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
- Compassionate approach to patient care with a focus on enhancing quality of life for individuals across all age groups.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
Pay: From $23.00 per hour
