Position Overview

Kinnect Support Services is currently seeking compassionate, reliable, and enthusiastic Relief Child Care Workers to provide casual, on-call support in daycare programs throughout East York and Toronto.

Our daycare programs support children in a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment while working alongside families and caregivers. Relief staff play an important role in providing quality care and supporting the daily operations of the daycare.

This is a casual/on-call position with shifts available based on program needs.

Available Shift Times

Shift schedules vary and may include:

- 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
- 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
- 8:45 AM – 4:45 PM
- 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- 9:15 AM – 5:15 PM

Key Responsibilities

- Facilitate early learning activities that promote children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Create a safe, positive, and engaging environment for infants and young children.
- Support children's daily routines, including feeding, diaper changing, toileting, and rest periods while maintaining health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Build respectful and professional relationships with parents, caregivers, and program staff.
- Follow all program policies, procedures, and directions provided by supervisors.
- Demonstrate initiative by anticipating program needs, assisting with classroom setup, supporting team members, and contributing to a positive learning environment.
- Maintain accurate communication regarding children's needs and daily activities.




- Ensure all interactions reflect professionalism, patience, and respect.

Qualifications

- Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE), Early Childhood Educator (ECE), Early Childhood Assistant (ECA), or a diploma/degree in a related child care, early childhood education, child development, or related field.
- Previous experience working in a daycare, childcare, preschool, or early learning environment is preferred.
- Experience working with infants and toddlers is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of child development, early learning practices, and creating age-appropriate activities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility to accept casual relief shifts, including short-notice assignments.

Required Qualifications & Documentation

- Valid Standard First Aid & CPR (Level C)
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Check (or willingness to obtain one)
- Government-issued Photo ID
- Proof of education
- Eligibility to work in Canada
