and investment decision frameworks (preferably within oil and gas)* Registered as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO)* Undergraduate degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering* Strong knowledge of refining processes, technologies, and industry standards.* Experience with project development methodologies, stage-gate processes, and investment decision frameworks**Responsibilities:*** Lead the initial development phase of refinery projects, encompassing new conceptual designs, equipment upgrades and modifications, as well as integration initiatives that enhance connectivity and value across refining and related operations* Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including engineering, operations, commercial, finance, and regulatory teams* Ensure all project development activities comply with company standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements* Prepare and present project proposals and business cases to senior management and decision-making committees* Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks throughout the development phase* Lead technical and economic evaluations, including process selection, technology assessment, and cost-benefit analysis* Mentor and develop junior process engineers and team members**Location and other key details:*** You will work out of our Sarnia refinery in Ontario, located at 1900 St. Clair Parkway* Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs* This position is safety sensitive* Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of workSuncor is committed to providing equal opportunities for employment and building an inclusive, results-oriented and high-performance culture where all members of our team feel safe, valued and respected. #J-18808-Ljbffr
