Become a key resource for victims of crime as a Victim Services Navigator in Pictou, Nova Scotia. Provide essential support and liaison services in the justice system to assist victims.
In this full-time role, you'll deliver the Provincial Victim Services Program governed by the Victim's Rights and Services Act. Your responsibilities include direct client support and acting as a bridge between victims and justice personnel such as police and Crown Attorneys. You'll help clients prepare for court and access counseling services while maintaining confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities: • Manage sensitive case files with care • Provide explicit information on the justice system • Liaise with stakeholders in the justice community • Develop and enhance community service programs • Accurately maintain the Victim Services database
Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences • Three years of relevant experience • Strong communication and case management skills • Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System • Able to commute to various court locations
