Responsible Adult (School Age Child Care Provider)

Located in Westsyde, Kamloops B.C.

We are a family owned and operated daycare, and we are currently looking for a warm, reliable, and energetic Responsible Adult to join our school-age child care team!

Position Details

- Part time hours: Monday to Friday, approx. 2:00–5:30 pm
- Potential for additional hours providing before school care and covering pro-D days
- More hours available during July/August for summer care and March for spring break
- Staff collect children from local schools and travel with them by daycare bus to program sites — a licensed driver is provided; you are not required to drive
- Start date: September 2026
- Location: Westsyde, Kamloops
- Wage: $19.00 per hour

What We're Looking For:
- A certified Responsible Adult (per BC licensing requirements) or willingness to obtain
- Must be 19 years of age or older
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Experience working with children
- A dependable team player who communicates openly and shares the workload
- Strong communication skills with children, families, and coworkers alike
- A calm, patient, and positive approach
- Organized, confident, and able to manage a group independently
- Valid First Aid/CPR (or willingness to obtain)

Responsibilities:




- Providing active supervision and ensuring children's safety at all times
- Supervising children at school pick-up, during bus transportation, and at arrival, following all sign-out and authorized release procedures
- Planning and facilitating engaging activities (art, outdoor play, games, etc.)
- Supporting positive behaviour and social development
- Working cooperatively with team members and communicating proactively about programming, child-specific concerns, and shift transitions
- Building respectful relationships with children, families, and coworkers
- Assisting with daily program setup and cleanup
