The Kids Shoppe is looking for an energetic, positive and dependable Retail Buyer & Customer Service Associate to join our team.

This is not your typical retail position.

Because we are a resale store, we purchase most of our inventory directly from our customers. A significant part of this position involves working as a Buyer; reviewing the items customers bring to us and deciding what we would like to purchase for the store.

Depending on the day, half or more of your shift may be spent processing customer drop-offs.

We are looking for someone who loves fashion, enjoys working with people, is comfortable making decisions and takes pride in providing exceptional customer service.

What Does a Buyer Do?

Customers bring clothing, footwear, accessories, toys and other items into our store for us to consider purchasing.

As a Buyer, you will:

● Sort through and carefully review customer drop-offs

● Select the items that are a good fit for our store

● Evaluate items based on condition, style, season, current trends and our current inventory needs

● Use our computerized buying system to process selected items

● Prepare purchase offers for customers

● Communicate with customers about their buy in a friendly and professional manner

● Work efficiently while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail

● Help ensure the quality and selection of merchandise available in our store

You do not need previous buying experience. We will train the right person on our buying process and computer system.

However, you should be someone who is comfortable making decisions and using your own judgment.

Customer Service Is Extremely Important to Us!

Even when you’re working behind the scenes processing a buy, you are still taking care of a customer.

We want our customers to feel welcomed, appreciated and well taken care of every time they visit.

● Assist with merchandising and putting inventory onto the sales floor

Retail, fashion or resale experience is an asset, but attitude, reliability, judgment and customer-service skills are extremely important to us.

Hours & Availability

This position is approximately 30+ hours per week over 4–5 shifts.

Applicants should have flexible availability and be able to work a combination of weekday and weekend shifts during store hours.

We are looking for someone who wants consistent hours and can become a reliable part of our team.
