We are seeking a friendly and attentive Gas Station Attendant to provide excellent customer service and ensure smooth operations at our convenience store. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting customers, handling transactions, and maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the station. This role offers an opportunity to develop retail sales skills, enhance communication abilities, and work in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist with fueling vehicles efficiently
- Operate POS systems for cash handling, credit card transactions, and receipts
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and offering assistance
- Maintain cleanliness of the station, including fueling areas, convenience store, and restrooms
- Upsell products such as snacks, beverages, or car accessories to increase sales
- Restock shelves as needed
- Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times to maintain a secure environment
- Handle phone inquiries professionally using proper phone etiquette
- Perform basic math calculations accurately during transactions
- Assist with merchandising displays to promote products effectively
- Assist customers with pumping gas if needed
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and balancing registers
- Organizational skills to manage inventory and maintain store appearance
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced workplace while managing time effectively
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures is advantageous
- Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills for engaging with customers
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours including weekends.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
