As a store associate, you are to provide excellent service to our customers, sort incoming product, receive donations and assist the management team in the maintenance of all store operations.
Sales Floor/Customer Service
- Acknowledge customers and assist them with their shopping needs.
- Provide fast, efficient, and accurate checkout service.
- Promote upcoming sales or special fundraising events.
- Maintain a neat and orderly sales floor and check out area.
- Answer the telephone in a professional manner.
- Replenish product.
- Proficiency in cash procedures and cashing out.
Receiving
- Receive, assist, and thank customers for their donations.
- Lift and move boxes and bags of donated items (up to 30 lbs.).
- Sort through donations and evaluate items for quality and condition.
- Price items according to established guidelines.
- Meet assigned production targets for each shift.
- Place clothing on hangers and items on racks and distribute to the appropriate areas on the sales floor.
Keyholder
- Open or lock the store as scheduled.
- Ensure the alarm is set.
- Direct volunteer efforts in absence of mgmt.
Core Competencies Organizational Skills – be able to identify and prioritize daily operational needs and procedures.

Information Technology – proficient with Microsoft Office and other basic office software and technology.
Research Initiative – understand the research procedures for identifying value of incoming items. Know what websites to use to ensure accurate, reflective, pricing information.
Accountability – ensure you arrive to work for your scheduled shifts and communicate any absences in a timely manner.
Communication – Use active communication skills, fostering an setting of open, constructive communication.
Physical Expectations – Regularly lift items up to 30 lbs. Standing/walking/moving for long periods. Bending, stretching, and reaching.
