The Historic Sites Association of Newfoundland and Labrador (HSA) seeks a Retail Sales Manager to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working 40 hours per week. This position is based at HSA’s Head Office in Mount Pearl, NL with frequent work required at our nine Heritage Shop locations. Three of these locations are based in St. John’s and operate year-round. Six operate seasonally are located at Signal Hill, Cape Spear, Placentia, Bonavista, Port au Choix and L’Anse aux Meadows.

About You

This role requires a hands-on, growth-minded leader with excellent people management skills. Our ideal candidate will possess:

- A love of retail
- Strong customer service and sales skills
- 3+ years of experience leading teams, optimizing store floor operations, and hitting revenue targets.
- The ability to lead, motivate, and manage teams effectively, fostering a positive and supportive working environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently, orally and in writing in English.
- Visual merchandising skills are a bonus
- Our successful candidate must qualify for Transport Canada Security Clearance and hold a valid NL driver’s license. Use of private vehicle is required.





The Role As Retail Sales Manager for HSA’s Heritage Shops, you will:

- Drive sales and ensure remarkable customer experience through the hiring, training, and performance management of our Heritage Shop teams.
- Monitor schedules and staffing levels to maintain cost efficiency and proper coverage.
- Review and interpret daily business data and metrics to track progress toward sales goals and motivate shop teams to drive business results.
- Ensure consistent execution of store standards.
- Assist in the development of annual sales and staffing budgets, and associated KPIs.

What We Offer

- Annual salary range of $50,000 - $63,000 depending on experience.
