SLI The Sidney Ledson School is seeking a Robotics After-School Instructor to lead a one-hour weekly robotics enrichment class for elementary students.
We are looking for someone with a strong interest or background in robotics, engineering, computer science or technology who can make robotics engaging and accessible for students.
Responsibilities
- Lead one 1-hour robotics class per week after school
- Guide students through age-appropriate robotics projects and challenges
- Introduce concepts in robotics, engineering, coding and problem solving
- Help students build, program, test and improve their projects
- Encourage experimentation, creativity and independent thinking
- Maintain an organized and positive learning environment
Qualifications
- Background in engineering, computer science, robotics, technology or a related field
- Familiarity with LEGO robotics, VEX, Arduino, Micro:bit or similar platforms is an asset
- Experience working with children is preferred
- Robust communication and group management skills
- University and graduate students with relevant experience are encouraged to apply
Schedule One 1-hour class per week on a weekday after school. Exact day will be determined based on school programming and instructor availability.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $40.00–$50.00 per hour
Expected hours: Approximately 1 hour per week for 8 - 10 weeks through Fall/Early Winter
