Overview

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Roofer/Labourer to join our dynamic construction team. This role is vital in ensuring the successful installation, repair, and maintenance of roofing systems on various projects. As a Roofer/Labourer, you will work closely with experienced tradespeople to learn and execute essential roofing tasks while supporting general construction activities.

Responsibilities

- Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofing systems using hand tools and power tools
- Prepare work sites by clearing debris, setting up scaffolding, and organizing materials for efficient workflow
- Support carpenters and other tradespeople with tasks such as measuring, cutting, and fitting materials according to blueprints and project specifications
- Perform heavy lifting of roofing materials, equipment, and supplies safely and efficiently
- Use caulking techniques to seal joints and prevent leaks as part of roofing procedures
- Read and interpret blueprints or technical drawings to ensure accurate installation processes




- Follow safety protocols diligently, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times

Skills

- Proficiency with hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, and measuring tapes
- Construction experience, preferably in roofing or general building projects
- Robust carpentry skills for framing, cutting, and fitting materials accurately
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper posture and technique
- Knowledge of blueprint reading to understand project layouts and specifications
- Experience with caulking for sealing joints and seams effectively
- Handyman experience is a plus, demonstrating versatility across various construction tasks
