This position reports to the Manager, Continuing & Community Education in collaboration with the LINC Coordinator in the program.Anticipated Locations/Assignments :St. Patrick Adult SchoolLINC CLB 5 (hybrid) Monday to Friday 9:00am12:00p.M.( Tue/Thu in-person and Monday/Wednesday/Friday online.)
(15 hours/week)The Assignment InvolvesUsing various tools/apps to teach language and employment skills in person or onlineCreate content for the specific curricula that is appropriate to the CLB levels of the courseImplement and maintain learner skills, progress and accurate attendance recordsAbility to interact occasionally at a qualified level as a representative of the Continuing Education department with other departments and various administrative staff, if requiredOther duties as assignedRequirementsValid TESL Ontario Certification or proof of TESL Ontario accreditation through the PLAR process and be a member in good standingPrevious general ESL teaching experience with various CLB or ESL levelsDemonstrated strong expertise in using learning technologies effectively to teach in person or online various CLB level ESL or LINC classes (include specific examples and describe in your CV and/or letter of application)Proven understanding and application of PBLA with learnersProven collaboration, cross-cultural, and instructional design planning skillsAny Of The Following Are Considered AssetsExperience working in Job Readiness / Employment / Skills or Trades Training programsWork Experience in various industry(ies) or sector(s) or trade(s), ideally in a training or lead roleProof of ability to integrate those skills into a curriculumExperience working with employers and in program promotionCandidates will be selected on the basis of their qualifications and experience.The salary for this position is $43.22 an hour (plus 4% vacation pay and 3.8% statutory holiday pay).The start date is as soon as possible.
