Position Summary
Based at EXFO’s global headquarters in Quebec City, you will work at the heart of corporate decision-making, with visibility across our operations in more than 25 countries. We are creating this role to move contract management from a primarily administrative function to a concrete business lever.
The successful candidate will own the contract lifecycle, negotiate certain agreements directly within guardrails established by legal counsel, proactively drive files forward, and turn DocuSign CLM into a performance tool for the T&M and Homeland Security teams. This role is for someone who wants to build, influence, and create value, not simply administer a platform.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the single point of contact for contract requests, triaging, prioritizing, and driving files based on risk, urgency, and business impact.
Perform first-pass review and direct negotiation of standard or moderately complex commercial agreements, within parameters established by legal counsel.
Proactively identify commercial, operational, and legal issues that slow files down, and recommend practical solutions.
Maintain the central contract register and calendar of deadlines, renewals, and notice periods, and ensure signed versions match approved versions.
Take ownership of DocuSign CLM and turn it into a value lever: team adoption, templates, workflows, automated tracking, data quality, and performance indicators.
Use artificial intelligence tools to accelerate contract review, summarization, and tracking, while applying sound judgment to validate output.
Work closely with sales, finance, operations, compliance, and procurement teams to reduce contractual friction and accelerate negotiation cycles.
Support due diligence, compliance requests (KYC, financing, transactions), and the tracking of external counsel mandates.
Document, improve, and evolve contract processes to reduce risk, avoid value leakage, and improve visibility on EXFO’s commitments.
Desired Profile
Training in law, administration, contract management, or a diploma in legal techniques; any relevant combination of education and experience will be considered.
3 to 6 years of relevant experience in contract management, commercial contracts, legal operations, or a related environment.
Hands-on experience reviewing, coordinating, or negotiating commercial contracts, ideally in a technology, international, or B2B environment.
Business judgment: ability to understand the commercial context, distinguish real risks from minor irritants, and propose pragmatic compromises.
Autonomy and initiative: ability to take a position, recommend, follow up, drive files forward, and own choices under the authority of legal counsel.
Critical thinking: ability to read between the lines, identify what does not add up, ask the right questions, and challenge ways of working when needed.
Strong interpersonal skills: ability to work directly with wide-ranging teams, build trust, and influence without hierarchical authority.
Real digital fluency with CLM platforms, AI tools, and contract data, with the reflex to turn the tool into an efficiency lever.
Excellent organizational skills, rigor in tracking deadlines, and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Proficiency in both French and English, spoken and written.
Why Join EXFO?
A role you get to build, with direct impact on how EXFO manages, negotiates, and tracks contractual commitments.
An opportunity to turn DocuSign CLM into a concrete lever for efficiency, risk reduction, and value creation.
Direct exposure to multiple business functions, divisions, and countries within a globally recognized technology company.
A collaborative, multidisciplinary, and stimulating environment where AI and digital tools are part of daily work.
Flexible hybrid work model and comprehensive benefits package.
English is required for this position, as the role involves frequent verbal and written communication with customers, partners, suppliers, and colleagues located outside Quebec.
