Reporting to the Store Manager, this role supports the Store in leading the sales of Circle Craft merchandise and the art work of its members at the Granville Island store location.

The nature of Circle Craft’s operations requires flexibility on the part of the employee, and the ability to change duties and pace to match the needs of the business. This is a full-time hourly position. The number of hours and days are 30–40 hours a week. This position requires working evenings, weekends and holidays; open-to-close, all days/ full availability is necessary.

We are looking for an energetic, proactive and dependable individual with strong initiative and natural leadership skills. The ideal candidate is someone with retail or sales experience, with the ability to engage with multiple customers, is goal driven, who takes ownership of their responsibilities, is comfortable taking the lead when needed, and can recognize what needs to be done without waiting for direction.

As part of an artist-run organization, we are also looking for someone with a genuine passion for the arts, handmade craft and supporting local artists. An enthusiasm for learning about our members, their creative processes and the stories behind their work is important to creating the knowledgeable and engaging customer experience Circle Craft is known for.

Sales & Customer Engagement:

Supporting the Store Manager to help the team achieve sales targets by providing exceptional sales and service.

Acknowledging and greeting customers in a manner that welcomes them to the store and will translate to supporting sales.

Ensuring knowledgeable assistance is offered to customers regarding store items, members and activities at all times.

Making sure the team is ready to engage and answer customer questions consistently.

As Sales Floor Leader / Keyholder : assist in supervising sales to ensure all customers are being assisted and store property is secure.

Ringing through sales at the POS counter.

Wrapping and packaging purchases efficiently and promptly.

General

Responsible for maintaining order and cleanliness of the displays and store.

Responsible for restocking the display of all products that have been purchased.

Support in the merchandising of all incoming new product.

Keeping inventory in front of the store, ensuring that all items are stored safely.

Keeping aware of the security of merchandise and being alert for loss prevention.

Alerting management and replenishing when additional stock is needed.

Other

As Sales Floor Leader / Keyholder – open and close the store as scheduled, including executing day-end procedures.

Assist in follow-up training and support of new and seasonally hired sales staff.

Process customer shipments.

Participating in inventory counts.

Take on any additional store projects as they may arise.
