SAP Organizational Change Management (OCM) Lead – S/4HANA & SuccessFactors
Edmonton, Canada (Remote + Travel)
Contract
Position Overview The OCM Lead will own the change agenda for a multi-country, wave-based SAP S/4HANA and SuccessFactors rollout. The role will lead global change strategy, methodology, governance, stakeholder engagement, readiness, communications, training enablement, adoption, and change agent management.
Key Responsibilities
Change Strategy, Framework & Governance
- Own and continuously refine the global OCM strategy, framework, and playbook.
- Define the change governance model, RACI, escalation paths, and decision rights.
- Develop and maintain wave-based change roadmaps aligned with deployment and cutover milestones.
- Establish reusable OCM templates, checklists, timelines, and deployment assets.
- Define change quality gates across SAP Activate phases and provide people-readiness input for go/no-go decisions.
Change Impact & Organizational Readiness
- Lead change impact assessments across countries, divisions, functions, and business processes.
- Develop role-level and process-level change maps covering processes, technology, policies, data ownership, KPIs, and organizational structure.
- Assess role and position changes, SAP roles and authorizations, segregation-of-duties impacts, and accountability changes.
- Conduct organizational readiness assessments and maintain readiness dashboards.
- Identify and manage adoption risks, resistance areas, and mitigation plans.
Stakeholder Engagement & Sponsorship
- Develop and maintain stakeholder maps based on influence and impact.
- Design and execute sponsorship activation programs, including briefings, leadership engagement, and communication plans.
- Coach country and divisional leaders to build active sponsorship and adoption.
- Manage template-versus-local requirements and support appropriate governance of local exceptions.
- Facilitate engagement with employee representative bodies where applicable.
Change Agent Network
- Define the Change Agent operating model, coverage, selection criteria, responsibilities, and expectations.
- Support nomination, onboarding, and enablement of Change Agents.
- Develop and deliver Change Agent training covering change fundamentals, impacts, communications,
resistance management, feedback, and escalation.
- Manage the Change Agent operating cadence, including network meetings, country and wave sessions, office hours, and knowledge repositories.
- Track and quality-assure Change Agent activities, including communications, readiness checks, feedback, and hypercare support.
- Develop Change Agent maturity to enable increasing ownership by local teams.
Communications
- Own the multi-wave and multi-country communications strategy and calendar.
- Develop consistent program messaging covering rationale, benefits, impacts, and key changes.
- Govern communications assets including leadership messages, town halls, newsletters, FAQs, videos, and site-level communications.
- Coordinate localization and translation where required.
- Establish feedback channels and measure communication reach, comprehension, and sentiment.
Training, Enablement & Digital Adoption
- Define the learning strategy, including role-based curricula and delivery methods.
- Partner with training teams to support train-the-trainer and super-user models.
- Ensure training content is appropriately localized while maintaining global template standards.
- Support digital adoption tools such as SAP Enable Now and WalkMe.
- Define and track training completion, assessments, and competency readiness.
- Transition knowledge assets into LMS and business-as-usual ownership.
Business Readiness, Go-Live & Hypercare
- Own business readiness criteria and scorecards for each deployment wave.
- Conduct readiness reviews and provide people-readiness input to go/no-go decisions.
- Coordinate business-side cutover activities, role assignments, access provisioning, and day-one support.
- Design and mobilize the hypercare support model.
- Monitor post-go-live adoption, identify workaround behavior, and drive corrective actions.
Adoption Measurement & Sustainment
- Define adoption KPIs covering system usage,
process compliance, data quality, training completion, support volumes, and user sentiment.
- Establish baseline and target measures for each wave.
- Report adoption progress and risks to program leadership.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews and lessons learned.
- Develop sustainment plans and transition change ownership to business and support teams.
Advisory & Capability Transfer
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and business sponsors on organizational and adoption matters.
- Provide evidence-based recommendations on adoption risks and organizational impacts.
- Coach internal change resources and transfer OCM knowledge and capabilities.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Experience
- 10+ years of Organizational Change Management experience, including 5+ years leading OCM for large-scale enterprise SAP transformations.
- Experience with at least two full-lifecycle SAP S/4HANA implementations.
- Experience with at least one SAP SuccessFactors implementation, including areas such as Employee Central, Recruiting, Performance & Goals, Learning, Succession & Development, or Compensation.
- Proven experience supporting multi-country, template-based SAP rollouts.
- Experience building and managing distributed Change Agent or Change Champion networks.
- Experience working across diverse cultural, regulatory, and matrixed organizational environments.
Methodology & Technical Skills
- Certification in or strong working knowledge of Prosci/ADKAR, Kotter, or an equivalent change methodology.
- Robust understanding of SAP Activate and OCM deliverables across its phases.
- Practical understanding of SAP S/4HANA and SuccessFactors sufficient to assess business impacts.
- Strong expertise in change impact analysis, stakeholder analysis, readiness assessment, and adoption measurement.
- Experience with collaboration and reporting tools such as SharePoint, Teams, Jira, Power BI, or equivalent.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Communications, or a related discipline.
- Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
Language
- Excellent written and spoken English with the ability to communicate effectively at an executive level.
