Key Responsibilities
- Continuously monitor security alarm systems, CCTV systems, fire alarm systems, and other electronic monitoring systems within the Operations center.
- Receive, assess, and prioritize incoming information, alarms, incidents, and service requests.
- Dispatch security personnel and other resources as required in response to alarms, incidents, emergencies, and operational needs.
- Maintain effective communication with security staff, emergency responders, building occupants, and management.
- Monitor the safety and welfare of security personnel working throughout the facility.
- Accurately document incidents, alarms, dispatch activities, and operational events in electronic and written logs.
- Initiate emergency response procedures in accordance with established policies, procedures, and site protocols.
- Verify and investigate alarm activations through available monitoring systems and established procedures.
- Maintain situational awareness of facility operations and security-related events.
- Ensure all monitoring and communication equipment is functioning properly and report deficiencies as required.
- Protect sensitive information and maintain confidentiality in accordance with organizational policies.
- Night shift - Sunday (1800 - 0600), Monday (1800 - 0600), Tuesday (1800 - 0600), Wednesday (1800 - 0600)
Qualifications & Skills
- Must be fluently Bilingual - French/English in both written and verbal
- Must have a valid Ontario Security guard license
- Experience in a security operations centre, alarm monitoring centre, communications centre, dispatch environment, or similar role preferred.
- Strong knowledge of CCTV, access control, intrusion detection,
and fire alarm systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities in high-pressure situations.
- Ability to multitask while monitoring multiple systems simultaneously.
- Proficiency with computer systems and incident reporting software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to traverse staircases
- Able to obtain LVL II Secret Clearance (10 Years consistent residency in Canada)
Working Conditions
- 24/7 operational environment requiring shift work, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Prolonged periods of monitoring computer screens and communications equipment.
- Fast-paced workplace requiring rapid assessment and response to incidents and emergencies.
