As a Senior Advisor within the Integrated Risk Management team and a subject matter expert in the Living Wills Program, including the Recovery Plan and Resolution Plan, you will contribute to strengthening the Bank’s resilience and preparedness in the face of financial crisis situations. You will serve as the lead expert for these programs and act as a trusted advisor to Integrated Risk Management and business partners to ensure compliance with regulatory expectations while enhancing the Bank’s financial crisis management capabilities.
This role offers a unique opportunity to directly influence the evolution of financial resilience practices across the organization. Working closely with specialized teams, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the Recovery and Resolution Plans and their associated governance framework, coordinating crisis simulation activities stemming from these plans, and ensuring their robustness, credibility, and effectiveness.
Your role:
- Act as a lead and subject matter expert for stakeholders on all matters related to the Recovery and Resolution Plans.
- Lead the ongoing maintenance of these plans, ensuring their consistency, robustness, and alignment with regulatory expectations.
- Influence and guide partners in the development and enhancement of crisis management strategies by fostering cross-functional alignment and an integrated approach to financial resilience
- Lead the awareness and testing program for the Recovery and Resolution Plans to demonstrate the effectiveness of the Bank’s crisis management capabilities, including the preparation of related reports and governance materials.
- Develop recommendations aimed at mitigating residual risks and their potential impacts on the Bank’s financial resilience.
- Manage regulatory reviews and internal audit examinations and prepare executive reporting for senior management.
Your team:
Within the Integrated Risk Management and Credit Analytics sector, you will report to the Senior Director, Integrated Risk Management.
Your impact: You will play a direct role in strengthening the Bank’s preparedness for financial crises by fostering close collaboration with partners across business units, corporate functions, risk management, finance, treasury, and other key areas.
Prerequisites:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and significant experience in recovery and resolution planning, operational resilience, business continuity, risk management, or crisis simulation programs
- Proven experience leading and coordinating large-scale initiatives involving multiple stakeholders
- Strong knowledge of the regulatory framework applicable to financial institutions, including regulatory expectations and supervisory requirements
- Demonstrated ability to influence, mobilize, and align multidisciplinary teams without direct reporting authority
- Robust communication skills, with the ability to simplify and communicate complex issues to a variety of audiences
- High degree of autonomy, rigor, organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment
Languages: English, French
Reason to require this language: you will need to collaborate with a regulator/authority/government body outside Quebec.
