Position Overview

Tessier Design Corp. is a small, team-oriented design firm seeking a Senior Architectural Technologist / Project Manager to lead renovation, retrofit, tenant fit-out, commercial interior, industrial, laboratory, and interior alteration projects. This hands-on role combines project management, technical documentation, consultant coordination, client communication, and interior design-related support.

As prime consultant, we lead client projects and coordinate engineering consultants. We are looking for someone who can manage projects confidently, understand existing building conditions, coordinate technical information, and help deliver practical, code-compliant design solutions.

What You Will Do

· Lead renovation, interior alteration, industrial, laboratory, and tenant fit-out projects from concept through construction.

· Manage schedules, deliverables, budgets, approvals, client requirements, consultant inputs, and internal workflows.

· Act as a key contact for clients, consultants, authorities, contractors, landlords, facility managers, and internal team members.

· Prepare, coordinate, and review drawings, details, schedules, permit submissions, tender documents, and construction documentation.

· Coordinate engineering and specialty consultants, review consultant drawings, and resolve technical coordination issues.

· Support interior design-related work, including space planning, finish selections, millwork coordination, furniture/equipment layouts, and presentation materials.

· Provide construction phase support, including RFIs, shop drawings, site instructions, change documentation, site reviews, deficiencies, and closeout.

· Mentor junior/intermediate staff and support consistent, high-quality project documentation.

What You Bring

· 8+ years of relevant architectural technology, renovation, interior alteration, industrial, laboratory, tenant fit-out, or project delivery experience.

· Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology,



Architecture, Interior Design, Building Science, or a related field.

· Strong knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, accessibility/barrier-free requirements, fire and life safety, zoning, approvals, construction assemblies, and existing building conditions.

· Experience coordinating engineering consultants and reviewing drawings for completeness, alignment, code compliance, constructability, and technical coordination.

· Strong technical detailing skills, including demolition coordination, existing-condition detailing, millwork, accessibility upgrades, finish coordination, and furniture/equipment coordination.

· Excellent communication, organization, follow-up, judgment, initiative, and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small-firm environment where priorities can shift quickly.

· BCIN qualification preferred; Legal qualification required or willingness to obtain. Large Building qualification is an asset.

Software and Technical Skills

· Advanced AutoCAD proficiency is required.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

· Experience with Revit, SketchUp, Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite, BIM workflows, finish schedules, or project/document management tools is an asset.

Work Environment

· Full-time role in a small, collaborative design firm.

· Work includes client, consultant, municipal, supplier, showroom, and construction site meetings, including active industrial and laboratory environments where applicable.

· Additional hours may occasionally be required to meet deadlines, submissions, construction milestones, or client commitments.

Pay: From $75,000.00 per year
