We are seeking a Senior Applications Engineer to lead the development of complex technical proposals and engineered solutions for nuclear and automation applications.
This role will take ownership of major RFQ/RFP opportunities, develop winning technical strategies, create concepts and estimates, and work directly with customers and cross-functional teams to turn complex requirements into competitive, executable solutions.
Develop proposal Win Strategies aligned with customer requirements and business objectives
Lead customer needs assessments, site visits, walk-downs, and technical discussions
Develop project scope, technical solutions, estimates, and proposal content
Coordinate proposal inputs across Engineering, Project Management, Procurement, Manufacturing, QA, and suppliers
Build trusted relationships with key customers and identify future opportunities
Support Business Development and represent Promation at customer meetings and industry events
Technical & Engineering Develop concepts and technical proposals for complex nuclear and automation applications
Create 2D/3D CAD concepts and equipment layouts using SolidWorks
Review RFQ/RFP specifications, codes, standards, deliverables, and technical requirements
Identify and resolve technical risks and uncertainties during the proposal stage
Support client presentations and transition awarded projects into execution
Provide technical direction while balancing performance, risk, schedule, and cost
Mentor and coach junior Applications Engineers
Champion continuous improvement and process standardization
Support strategic growth opportunities within the nuclear and automation markets
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline
5-10 years of Mechanical/Electrical Design or Applications Engineering experience, preferably within the nuclear industry
EIT registration considered
Working knowledge of robotics, machine controls, and manufacturing processes
Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical controls, and equipment integration preferred
Strong technical proposal writing, estimating, presentation, and project coordination skills
Proven ability to lead teams and deliver high-quality proposals under tight deadlines
