Senior Oracle PBCS Specialist

Location: Toronto, ON – 100% Remote

Contract: 3 Months, with potential extension

Pay Rate: CAD $50/hr

Work Arrangement: Fully Remote

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Oracle Budgeting and Planning (PBCS) Specialist with strong hands-on experience in Oracle PBCS, Oracle EPM Cloud, Hyperion Planning, and Essbase.

The successful candidate will support enterprise planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and period-close processes. This role will work closely with Finance, Accounting, IT, Solution Architects, and Project Managers to enhance existing financial systems, troubleshoot issues, and deliver technical and functional solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide subject matter expertise in Oracle PBCS, Oracle EPM Cloud, Hyperion Planning, and Essbase.

- Configure Oracle PBCS/EPM applications based on business and financial requirements.

- Develop and maintain Business Rules, Essbase scripts, calculations, and planning solutions.

- Support budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, reporting, and period-close processes.

- Develop test scenarios, test scripts, and support unit, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT).

- Support and troubleshoot existing PBCS/Hyperion applications and integrations.

- Participate in Hyperion Planning/Essbase to Oracle EPM Cloud PBCS upgrades and migrations.

- Work with Finance, Accounting, IT, Solution Architects, and Project Managers to define and implement appropriate solutions.

- Support data integrations using technologies such as FDMEE, DRM, ODI, and other EPM integration tools.





- Provide technical and functional guidance to clients and project teams.

- Mentor and coach junior team members.

- Conduct knowledge-transfer sessions and train-the-trainer/end-user training.

- Identify opportunities to improve system performance, processes, automation, and overall application stability.

- Act as a trusted advisor to the client on planning, budgeting, and forecasting best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle Hyperion Planning and/or Oracle EPM Cloud PBCS.

- Strong experience with Oracle Essbase.

- Expert-level experience developing Essbase Business Rules and Calculation Scripts.

- Experience with Hyperion Planning 11.2.x.

- Experience with at least 2 Oracle Hyperion/PBCS implementations.

- Hands-on experience with Hyperion Planning/Essbase to Oracle EPM Cloud PBCS migration or upgrade projects.

- Experience with Hyperion Financial Reporting (HFR).

- Experience with EPM data integration tools such as FDMEE, DRM, ODI, or equivalent.

- Understanding of financial budgeting, planning, and forecasting processes.

- Strong understanding of P&L;, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.

- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills.





- Experience working through the full software development lifecycle (SDLC).

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong communication, presentation, client-facing, and team collaboration skills.

- Experience mentoring, coaching, and transferring knowledge to other team members.

- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

- Undergraduate degree in Finance or equivalent education/work experience.

Nice to Have

- Oracle EPM PBCS certification.

- Graduate degree in Finance.

- Experience with REST APIs.

- Experience with SQL.

- Experience with EPMAutomate and EPM automation.

- Experience with Workforce Planning, Capex Planning, or Project Planning.

- Strong consulting/client-advisory experience.

Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a senior hands-on Oracle EPM/PBCS consultant who combines strong technical expertise in PBCS, Hyperion Planning, and Essbase with a solid understanding of finance, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.

The candidate should be comfortable working directly with clients, independently troubleshooting complex issues, leading testing activities, and advising stakeholders on EPM best practices.

Additional Information

- Remote: 100% remote within Canada.

- Travel: No regular travel required.

- Candidate must have reliable internet, phone access, and a private workspace suitable for work from home.

- This is initially a 3-month contract with potential for extension.
