Senior Project Coordinator - Security Solutions 03-Cost of Sales 907 - Toronto, Mississauga, ON, CA Salary Range: $80,000.00 To $85,000.00 Annually Convergint is looking for a full‑time, enthusiastic, results‑driven and forward‑thinking Senior Project Coordinator to join our amazing culture in Toronto, ON. What you’ll do with “Our Training and Your Experience” Coordinates and supervises all aspects for all types of projects, including medium‑sized and complex projects from award through completion, overall site supervision for successful and timely completion within budget as required by the contract, handling multiple projects simultaneously. Translates a wide variety of customer needs/requirements; reviews and provides input on estimated costs prior to bid; supervises installationlabor and subcontractors; reviews and complies with project schedules, subcontracts, change proposals, assists in collections on projects.
Proactively communicates project requirements to the project team and wider organization as and when required, maintaining accurate and up‑to‑date records of job status, job changes, material flow and other control records necessary for processing internal and external reports. Identifies potential project risks and develops/implements strategies to minimize impact and control deviations from estimated costs and project deadlines; evaluates currentsystems for cost reduction and product improvement. Proactively communicates project schedules, project change proposals and related project activities on a regular basis with customers, seeking to continuously improve customer satisfaction. Coordinates procurement of materials, supplies, services and controls necessary for timely and cost‑effective completion of the project within budget. Establishes project milestones and analyzes costs; utilizes financial systems to review actual vs. estimated job cost and to provide timely and accurate project cost reports; identifies reasons for low job‑site productivity and determines impact on the project; adjusts or corrects project plans and/or cost estimates as necessary to meet financial goals. Manages direct reports and performs managerial responsibilities including mentoring, coaching and developing colleagues, interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning and directing work, and performance management; oversees subcontractor work. Promotes and enforces company health and safety policies and procedures, including adherence to OH&S; reviews and signsall relevant safety paperwork. Presents a professional image of Convergint Technologies at all times in appearance and behaviour and seeks opportunities to promote the services offered by the company. What You’ll Need Advanced installation experience in a technical environment (building automation systems, fire alarm systems, security systems). Advanced coaching, mentoring and staff development skills; actively seeks ways to serve as a role model, guide, develop and mentor others within the organization. Advanced team leadership, team‑building and facilitation skills. Demonstrates initiative – regularly engages in proactive behaviour and looks for opportunities. Extremely adaptable – responds effectively to changes in situation or information; influences othersand builds consensus using strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent analytical skills necessary to resolve problems and look for solutions. Strong financial analytical skills, including cost control. Expert ability to facilitate a collaborative working environment for customers and team members. Good Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word skills. Basic knowledge and understanding of IT networking principles. Requirements Technical school diploma or related field required; journeyman statusdesirable. Minimum of eight years’ previous, construction‑based, field service/installation or project coordination experience preferred. Experience in one or more of the following industries preferred: security, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation. Minimum of five years of project supervisory experience required.
