Job Title: Senior Ingres DBA / Technical Lead

Required Experience and Skills

- 8+ years of database administration experience with significant hands-on production Ingres DBA experience

.

- Robust experience administering and supporting production Ingres databases

, including configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, startup, shutdown, and operational support.

- Hands-on experience with

Ingres backup, restore, checkpoint, journaling, transaction logs, and database recovery

.

- Strong experience with

Ingres performance tuning

, database health monitoring, and production troubleshooting.

- Strong hands-on experience administering

RHEL/Linux in production environments

, particularly systems supporting enterprise database workloads.

- Strong knowledge of

Linux service and process management, file systems, mounts, storage, permissions, ownership, system logs, and diagnostics

.

- Demonstrated experience recovering databases following service, host, storage, or unclean-shutdown failures

.

- Experience validating backup integrity, database restoration, disaster recovery, and recovery testing

.

- Experience with database replication and journaling in production environments.

- Strong experience with

Bash/Shell scripting for Linux and database administration.

- Proven ability to perform cross-layer troubleshooting across Ingres, RHEL/Linux, storage, file systems, services, network dependencies, and application interfaces

.

- Experience supporting legacy or partially documented production environments and assessing existing database/OS architecture and dependencies.





- Experience leading critical production incidents

, outage triage, technical recovery, and problem resolution.

- Experience developing and maintaining technical documentation, operational procedures, runbooks, architecture documentation, incident reports, and recovery procedures

.

- Experience planning and executing shutdown/startup, recovery, outage, and disaster-recovery exercises

, including documenting results and corrective actions.

- Ability to provide technical leadership, coordinate infrastructure/application/security teams, and maintain continuity of technical knowledge

.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide knowledge transfer to technical teams and designated client personnel

.

Nice-to-Have Skills and Experience

- Recent

Ingres-on-RHEL production experience.

- Experience in higher education, Student Information Systems (SIS), or high-availability administrative systems

.

- Experience with

Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)

certification.

- Relevant database administration certification

.

- Experience coordinating database, infrastructure, application, security, and service-management teams during critical incidents.

- Experience establishing database and host health baselines covering CPU, memory, storage, I/O, processes, services, and logs.

- Experience assessing and documenting

Ingres architecture, database instances, RHEL configuration, storage, interfaces, dependencies, and operational procedures
