Corvus is a Calgary-based environmental and regulatory consulting firm known for blending deep technical expertise with creative, tech-driven solutions. We build custom software, automation, and AI-integrated tools, both for our own practice and for clients who need complex systems made usable.

The Role

We are looking for a senior developer who can own a product from the first conversation to long after launch: architecture, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing iteration.

Our projects vary and include internal platforms, client-facing tools, data pipelines, automation, AI-assisted workflows, and mobile apps. What stays constant is the shape of the work: a loose idea, real constraints, and someone who can turn it into something that works and keeps working.

This role suits someone who is genuinely comfortable with ambiguity. You will not always get a spec. Often you will get a problem, a budget, a deadline, and the freedom to decide how to solve it.

Key Responsibilities

You will own products end-to-end, turning open-ended requirements into practical technical solutions, then designing, building, testing, deploying, and supporting them in production.

This includes

- Architecting solutions that fit the actual scope, budget, and timeline
- Building across the stack, including frontend, backend, integrations, and data
- Working within and contributing to consistent design systems
- Setting up testing, CI/CD, environments, and releases
- Supporting and improving products after launch
- Advising clients and colleagues on technical options and trade-offs

What we are looking for

- 6+ years of production software development experience, including senior or lead responsibility
- Solid TypeScript, React/Next.js, Node.js, and relational database experience




- A track record of taking products from an empty repository through launch and ongoing support
- Strong architecture judgment and practical problem-solving
- Experience with APIs, integrations, automated testing, CI/CD, and production environments
- Comfort working from an unclear brief and making sound decisions without waiting for a perfect specification
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical decisions to non-technical clients

Ideally you would have experience with AI/LLM integrations, Python AI or data pipelines, mobile apps, workflow automation, GraphQL, Prisma, Auth0/NextAuth, AWS/Azure, data visualization, or Figma.

Our stack

Next.js, React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Node.js, GraphQL, Prisma, PostgreSQL, Python, Auth0/NextAuth, Docker, Recharts, and dnd-kit.

Python services handle our data and AI pipelines. Some projects involve mobile. If you have done this work in a comparable stack, apply anyway.
