The Role The Senior Staff Accountant will report to Manager(s) and Partner(s) and be primarily responsible for the execution and completion of client engagements. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead and execute the preparation of client financial files across a diverse range of industries and complexities.
- Manage a robust portfolio of engagements, including Compilations, Reviews, and Audits, as well as complex Personal, Corporate, and Trust tax returns, and special consulting projects.
- Act as a Technical Leader and Mentor by providing guidance, reviewing work, and fostering the professional development of junior staff.
- Serve as a primary client contact, coordinating engagement workflow, addressing client inquiries, drafting meeting notes, and communicating technical findings.
- Ensure all client engagements adhere to relevant professional standards, including ASPE and ASNPO.

Qualifications The Candidate Must-Have Skills and Core Competencies
- CPA Designation (In Progree/Completed).
- Minimum of 2 years of recent public accounting experience in Assurance and Tax.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Advanced technical expertise in ASPE, ASNPO, and complex Canadian Personal and Corporate tax
- Expert-level proficiency with core accounting software: CaseWare/Caseview, Jazzit, Excel, and TaxPrep.
- Ability to reliably commute to Hamilton, ON.
- Demonstrated ability in mentoring, leading, and developing junior staff.
- Exceptional attention to detail and consistent high quality of work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (Professional working proficiency in English).
- High level of professionalism and client service orientation.
