Summary

'Senior Staff Accountant' position based in Canada offers an exciting opportunity to join a reputable company specializing in kitchen cabinetry. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing financial records and ensuring accuracy to support our company's growth and excellence.

Accountant Roles & Responsibilities:

- Manage online accounts – bank and merchant
- Explore solutions to streamline operating and/or accounting systems
- Generate contracts and invoices as required
- Manage any grant or assistance programs
- Proactively plan and anticipate any bank closures, plan and/or process holiday and weekend payments as required
- Input and track client invoices, ensure collection of payment
- Track client deposits: credit card processing, and online payment transactions
- Oversee outstanding balances and follow-up with clients on overdue invoices
- Set up new customer accounts internally and set up as new vendors externally
- Input credits or other adjustments for services as required
- Intake and input vendor and artists invoices
- Review invoices for accuracy to booking software
- Create payment batches for cheque or EFT payments based on pay schedule
- Ensure accurate payments are approved and paid on a timely basis
- Setup new vendor accounts
- Calculate and confirm sales agent commissions
- Track and reconcile office and credit card expenses and receipts




- Bank reconciliations for CAD$ and US$ accounts
- Monthly reconciliation and input of credit cards expenses
- Review and verify Manager(s) expense submissions
- Calculate and verify Manager(s) monthly commissions to be tracked and submitted to payroll
- Monthly reconciliation of Accounts Payable for vendors
- Monthly reconciliation of Accounts Receivable and generate Statements Of Accounts for clients
- Monthly check on accounts to ensure all services have been invoiced for
- Ensure government and vendor accounts are paid and up to date – WorkSafe, GST.
- Setup and manage utility payments
- Post year end journal entries. Reconcile all accounts.
- Generate financial statements
- Assist with annual financial & operational audit as needed
- Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Staff Accountant or similar role.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks
- Excellent understanding of accounts payable, receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Ability to analyze financial data effectively.
- Knowledge of auditing procedures is a plus.
- Solid organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Relevant degree or certification in accounting or finance.
