Senior Tax Manager or Tax Partner

Our client is a well respected, forward-thinking accounting firm who truly values life-balance. They are currently seeking an experienced and accomplished Senior Tax Manager or Partner to join their leadership team and play a key role in the continued growth of their Tax practice.

This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished tax professional with extensive tax experience who is currently a Partner or Senior Manager on a clear path to Partnership. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a passion for building and developing a successful Tax practice. As a Senior Tax Manager/Partner, you will work closely with our client's partners, managers, and clients on a broad range of Canadian tax matters. You will take a leadership role in providing high-quality tax planning and advisory services while mentoring our team and contributing to the growth and strategic direction of the practice.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead and manage complex Canadian tax engagements for a diverse portfolio of private companies, owner-managed businesses, corporations, trusts, and high-net-worth individuals.

· Provide sophisticated tax planning and advisory services, including corporate reorganizations, estate and succession planning, family trust structures, shareholder transactions, acquisitions and dispositions, and other complex tax matters.

· Provide specialized tax advice on cross-border matters and not-for-profit organizations, including identifying planning opportunities,

addressing compliance requirements, and advising clients on complex tax issues.





· Research and interpret Canadian tax legislation, CRA administrative positions, and relevant case law.

· Identify tax planning opportunities and proactively communicate recommendations to clients.

· Review complex corporate, personal, trust, and partnership tax returns and related tax filings.

· Act as a trusted advisor to clients and build strong, long-term relationships.

· Collaborate closely with partners and other service teams to provide strategic tax advice and integrated accounting and advisory solutions tailored to clients’ business needs.

· Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships and participate in business development initiatives.

· Develop new business opportunities through networking, referrals, professional relationships, and industry involvement.

· Manage multiple engagements and competing priorities while maintaining high standards of quality and client service.

· Provide technical guidance and mentorship to managers, seniors, and junior team members.

· Support the development of the firm's tax team through coaching, knowledge sharing, and technical training.

· Contribute to the development and implementation of tax practice processes, standards, and best practices.

· Stay current with changes to Canadian tax legislation and communicate relevant developments to the team and clients.





· Participate in firm leadership initiatives and contribute to the continued growth and evolution of the firm.

Technical Expertise

· 15 + years of progressive experience in Canadian public accounting and taxation.

· CPA designation is required.

· Completion of CPA In-Depth Tax program

· Extensive knowledge of Canadian corporate and personal taxation.

· Strong experience with complex tax planning and advisory matters.

· Experience with corporate reorganizations, estate and succession planning, family trust structures, shareholder transactions, and other complex tax matters.

· In-depth understanding of Canadian tax legislation and CRA practices.

· Experience with corporate reorganizations, estate and succession planning, shareholder transactions, and other complex tax matters.

· Solid technical research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to independently manage complex tax files and provide practical, commercially focused advice.

· Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.

· Ability to provide thoughtful coaching and constructive feedback.

· Comfortable working collaboratively with partners, managers, and professionals across the firm.

· Demonstrated ability to take ownership and make sound decisions with minimal supervision.

· Exceptional client relationship and communication skills.

· Ability to build trust and credibility with business owners, executives, and other professional advisors.

· Strong commercial acumen and an understanding of clients' broader business objectives.

· Demonstrated interest and ability in business development and relationship building.

· Desire and ability to contribute to the growth of a firm.
