Join House of Friendship as a ShelterCare Support Worker, serving individuals experiencing homelessness. This part-time role focuses on providing support and guidance for permanent housing success. In this contracted part-time position, you will play a vital role within the Housing Services ShelterCare team, engaging men experiencing homelessness and helping them secure permanent housing.
Your contributions will ensure access to health supports and improve participants' overall wellbeing through life skills development and trauma-informed care. Key Responsibilities:
- Engage participants to facilitate permanent housing connections
- Conduct program orientation and intake discussions
- Assist individuals in building life skills for housing retention
- Act as a first responder to health emergencies
- Maintain accurate documentation and data management Requirements:
- Two years post-secondary education in social services or related field
- Experience supporting individuals facing homelessness
- Strong communication and crisis management skills
- Commitment to trauma-informed practices
