Shipper/Receiver/Forklift Operator – Chicken Processing Company | Brampton, Ontario

Join our energetic chicken processing and food production company in Brampton, Ontario as a Shipper/Receiver/Forklift Operator and become a vital part of our warehouse and distribution operations.

The successful candidate will have meat/chicken processing or food manufacturing experience, a valid counterbalance forklift licence/certification, and previous supervisory or team-lead experience. This role is ideal for an experienced warehouse qualified who can safely operate material-handling equipment while supporting daily shipping, receiving, inventory, and distribution activities.

Responsibilities

- Safely operate counterbalance forklifts, reach trucks, and order pickers to load, unload, and transport chicken and other products
- Manage shipping and receiving activities and verify inbound and outbound shipments against documentation
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently
- Move and organize products in refrigerated, chilled, or designated warehouse areas
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and movement of chicken and meat products
- Prepare orders for shipment, including labeling, packaging, staging, and order verification
- Conduct inventory counts and maintain accurate inventory records
- Use WMS, MRP, AS400, or similar warehouse systems to record inventory movements
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, HACCP, health and safety, and company procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment
- Support daily distribution and order fulfillment requirements
- Coordinate with production, warehouse, transportation, and management teams
- Provide direction and support to warehouse employees when required
- Assist with training new employees on equipment operation, safety, warehouse procedures,



and company policies
- Monitor workflow and help resolve shipping, receiving, inventory, and operational issues
- Ensure work is completed accurately and within required deadlines

Required Experience & Qualifications

- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, logistics, or distribution
- Valid counterbalance forklift licence/certification with hands-on operating experience
- Previous experience operating reach trucks or other warehouse equipment is an asset
- Previous chicken, meat processing, meat factory, poultry, or food manufacturing experience is strongly preferred
- Previous supervisory, lead-hand, or team-lead experience
- Experience supervising, training, or coordinating warehouse or production employees
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures and inventory control
- Experience with WMS, MRP, AS400, or similar inventory systems is an asset
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety requirements
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Good attention to detail and inventory accuracy
- Basic math skills for counting and verifying quantities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced chicken processing/food production environment
- Ability to work in refrigerated or temperature-controlled areas when required
- Ability to perform physically demanding warehouse duties safely

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
