Shop Foreman – Millwork & Cabinetry
Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced Shop Foreman with a solid background in millwork and cabinetry to lead our shop team and oversee day-to-day production.
The Shop Foreman will be responsible for organizing workflow, supervising and motivating employees, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring projects are completed accurately and on schedule. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader who understands the demands of a busy millwork and cabinetry shop and knows how to keep a team productive and focused.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the millwork and cabinetry shop.
- Assign work to employees based on project priorities, skill levels, and production schedules.
- Monitor progress throughout the day and ensure work stays on schedule.
- Motivate and support employees to maintain productivity and meet deadlines.
- Provide clear direction and hold team members accountable for their responsibilities.
- Plan and coordinate production to ensure projects are completed on time.
- Review shop drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Ensure cabinetry and millwork are manufactured accurately and to company quality standards.
- Troubleshoot production issues and find practical solutions to keep work moving.
- Inspect completed work for quality, accuracy, and workmanship.
- Coordinate with project managers, designers, installers, and management as required.
- Monitor materials and communicate shortages or issues that could affect production.
- Train, coach, and develop shop employees.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Ensure proper operation and maintenance of shop machinery and equipment.
- Help establish efficient production methods and improve shop workflow.
- Communicate production updates, concerns, and delays to management.

Qualifications & Experience
- 7+ years of experience in millwork and/or cabinetry manufacturing.
- Previous experience in a Shop Foreman, Lead Hand, Supervisor, or similar leadership position.
- Strong knowledge of cabinetry, custom millwork, and woodworking production.
- Experience working with shop drawings, specifications, measurements, and project details.
- Strong understanding of shop machinery, tools, materials, and production processes.
- Proven ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong work ethic with a hands-on approach to leadership.
