Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Shop Lead / Operations Controller to oversee daily manufacturing operations and drive seamless shop floor management. In this vital leadership role, you will coordinate supply chain activities, optimize workflows, manage inventory, and enforce safety and quality protocols to meet production targets and support overall business growth.

Duties & Responsibilities

Shop Floor Leadership & Operations

- Direct and coordinate daily shop floor activities, ensuring smooth workflows across all manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Monitor production performance metrics, identify operational bottlenecks, and implement solutions to maintain throughput.
- Oversee mechanical work, assembly, and quality control procedures to uphold high standards of workmanship.

Inventory & ERP Management

- Manage inventory levels, material flow, and job staging using ERP systems (e.g., SAP) aligned with MRP schedules.
- Collaborate with supply chain teams to ensure timely procurement of materials and prevent production downtime.

Continuous Improvement & Safety

- Drive process improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing principles to eliminate waste and optimize operational efficiency.
- Enforce safety regulations, conduct regular safety audits,



and foster a proactive safety culture across the team.
- Support onboarding and training for shop staff on ERP workflows, quality standards, and manufacturing best practices.

Qualifications

Required:

- 3–5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, shop leadership, or production control.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in assembly or mechanical environments.
- Practical understanding of supply chain, MRP, and quality control practices in manufacturing.
- Proven leadership abilities with solid communication skills to motivate and guide cross-functional teams.

Preferred:

- Hands-on experience with SAP or similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Training or certification in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or Six Sigma practices.
