- Supervise and coordinate on-site crews across excavation, grading, demolition, crushing, and trucking operations, keeping work on schedule and on budget.
- Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, grading and drainage plans, and specifications, and confirm work in the field matches design intent.
- Plan and oversee site grading and earthwork to meet elevations, drainage, and compaction requirements.
- Manage subcontractors and equipment/material deliveries, and keep daily logs of progress, manpower, and equipment hours.
- Work with the Safety Coordinator to enforce site safety plans, run toolbox talks, and ensure crews and subcontractors follow all safety and OHS requirements.
- Plan and manage winter operations, including snow-clearing crews and equipment across active sites.
- Coordinate crushing and trucking/hauling operations, including scheduling equipment and material movement.
- Communicate daily with the Operations Manager on progress, issues, and schedule risks.
- Identify and resolve field issues, such as utility conflicts, access, weather delays, and equipment breakdowns, before they affect schedule or budget.
- Mentor crew leads and foremen, and help maintain DJN's field safety and operating standards.

you join a tight-knit local team that does what it says it will do, and supports its people to grow.Position SummaryReporting to the Operations Manager, the Site Supervisor runs day-to-day field operations on DJN's excavation, grading, demolition, crushing, and trucking projects, keeping crews safe, on schedule, and working to plan.
This role blends hands-on field leadership with explicit communication back to the office: the strongest candidates can run a crew and read a set of plans just as comfortably.
The Site
Supervisor also leads DJN's winter snow-clearing operations and helps set the standard for how work gets done on site.Core Responsibilities & DutiesEducation, Experience & SkillsRequired
- Proven experience supervising heavy civil construction, such as excavation, grading, and/or demolition (3+ years in a lead/supervisory role).
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction blueprints, site plans, and grading/drainage plans.
- Working knowledge of aggregate crushing and trucking/hauling operations.
- Solid understanding of construction site safety practices and applicable OHS regulations.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, comfortable directing crews, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Valid driver's licence and the ability to travel to job sites.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all seasons, including winter operations.
Considered an asset
- Experience managing snow-clearing operations.
- Heavy equipment operating experience.
- Diploma or certificate in Construction Management or a related field.
- Familiarity with construction-management / job-costing software (e.g., JobTread).
- First Aid/CPR certification or other recognized safety tickets.
Pay: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
