Position: Ski Lift Mechanic
Job Brief:
The position of Ski lift mechanic is a full-time, year round, job with a significant amount of responsibility attached. Ski Lift mechanics install, maintain, repair and troubleshoot lift equipment as well as assist lift operations with the start-up and shut down of the lifts daily. They also read diagrams and manufacturers’ manuals, fit bearings, rebuild sheave trains, service grips and perform other mechanical procedures requiring specialized training.
They work at great heights, in all weather conditions, at any time of the day or night.
Responsibilities:
- To perform all duties assigned by Director of Ski Operations and Ski Operations Manager
- Ensure all lifts are maintained to TSSA code and manufacturers recommendations
- Assist in emergency situations
- Report and rectify any unsafe situations
- Keep a clean, organized and safe work environment
- Mechanical knowledge of all on site equipment
- Maintain and repair all ski operations related equipment
- Deliver and pick up parts and supplies
- Keep appropriate inventory of shop supplies for servicing and maintaining all related equipment
- Support ski operations staff on Ski hill when required
- Have full knowledge of all ski operations and policies
- Record and update service records on all equipment
- Plough snow when required
- Be responsible for moving and parking all equipment appropriately
- Assist in areas outside mechanical related duties on or off ski hill
- Use courtesy and respect when dealing with management, staff, co-workers, and guests at all times
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- SLM-B/SLM-T tssa certified lift mechanic
- Good communications skills, self-motivated, mature, dependable, timely and able to work well with others
- Willing and able to work in all weather conditions
- Ability to work at excessive heights
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs
- Ability to operate snowmobiles in a safe and responsible manner
- Good working knowledge of current WSIB regulations
- Required tools
- Electrical experience an asset
- Ability to operate snow groomer an asset
- Snowmaking experience an asset
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $70,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
