Overview
Diamond Construction Group is seeking a skilled and dependable Skidsteer Operator to join our growing team. This position plays a key role in supporting construction, earthworks, aggregate, and site development projects. The successful candidate will safely and efficiently operate skid steers and wheel loaders while assisting with general site operations and working closely with the crew to meet project goals.
We are looking for team-oriented individuals who take pride in their work, maintain a strong commitment to safety, and are willing to contribute wherever needed on the job site.
Responsibilities
- Operate skidsteers safely and efficiently.
- Load, move, stockpile, and distribute materials as required.
- Assist with site preparation, grading, excavation support, and cleanup activities.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and complete required documentation.
- Identify and report equipment defects, maintenance needs, or safety concerns.
- Follow project plans, grade requirements, and supervisor instructions.
- Work around underground utilities, structures, and other site hazards safely.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Assist with labor duties and support other crew members as needed.
- Adhere to all company safety policies,
procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Previous experience operating skid steers or similar heavy equipment.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of construction site safety practices.
- Ability to perform routine equipment maintenance and inspections.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Robust communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Reliable transportation to job sites.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 years experience in road construction, earthworks, aggregate, or civil construction.
- Ground disturbance certification.
- CSTS 2020 certification.
- Experience working around grading crews and survey stakes.
- Experience working with a crusher (considered an asset)
