Position Overview The Street Crew Labourer is responsible for working independently or as a team member. Responsible for the de-icing, anti-icing, and clearing of snow from walkways, entrances, sidewalks, and stairs for various commercial and industrial properties throughout the Lower Mainland. Working in an efficient manner, promoting worksite safety, providing excellent service and exhibiting pride and quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

● Work closely with the area supervisors or other team members in the de-icing, anti-icing and removal of snow from walkways, entrances,



sidewalks and stairs according to the specific customer contracts.

● Proficiently and safely use snow removal equipment such as shovels, snow blowers, ATV’s, and other power and manually operated tools and equipment used to perform snow removal.

● Safely and appropriately distribute de-icing solutions, including calcium chloride or rock salt.

● Perform highly physical work outdoors on a consistent basis in all weather conditions, specifically very cold, icy, snowy weather.

● Work as part of a team and take direction.

● Maintain and care for your personal or company provided equipment, tools and vehicles.

● Driving a personal or company vehicle to get to worksites

● Keep accurate timesheet records, submitted for review and signoff by the required deadlines.

● Attend training classes and seminars as requested by management.

Requirements

● No snow removal experience required.

● Highly motivated, self-driven, flexible and detail oriented.

● Must be professional in appearance and actions.

● Outstanding time management skills; available for seasonal long hours, a clear schedule to work all hours of the day, any day of the week and a strong work ethic. This position will require, although rare, potential holiday work.

● Ability to drive comfortably in winter weather conditions.





● This is a weather dependent position with no guaranteed hours.

● Punctual and dependable with a can-do attitude.

● Ability to work effectively with individuals of differing backgrounds, knowledge and skill levels.

● Required for all Street Crew Labourers to have cold weather gear and wear it appropriately to protect themselves against adverse weather conditions.

● Physical demands require constantly moving, walking, or bending over. Frequently required to stand and walk, lift and/or move up to 50 to over 100lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Constantly required to communicate with the ability to talk and hear. Job will require consistently working outdoors in extreme weather conditions and exposure to elements.

This can include heavy to moderate noise and extreme proximity to moving equipment or machinery.

Supervision

● This position does not require supervisory duties.
