Overview
Join our dynamic warehouse team as a Sorters and Drivers specialist, where your energy and precision will keep our logistics operations running smoothly and efficiently. In this vital role, you will be responsible for sorting, loading, unloading, and transporting goods within the warehouse environment. Your mechanical knowledge and experience with heavy equipment will ensure that shipments are processed safely and accurately.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of warehouse tools and machinery, contributing directly to the seamless flow of goods from receipt to dispatch. Responsibilities
- Sort incoming and outgoing goods accurately according to company procedures, ensuring proper placement for easy retrieval.
- Assist with order picking processes using warehouse management systems to fulfill customer orders promptly.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate heavy machinery, adhering to safety protocols for heavy lifting and construction-related tasks.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment such as forklifts and cranes, performing basic mechanical checks to maintain operational safety.
- Support shipping & receiving activities by verifying shipment details, preparing documentation,
and ensuring proper handling of goods.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize warehouse layout and improve overall distribution processes for maximum efficiency.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a warehouse distribution setting or similar setting is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation such as forklifts, cranes, or clamp trucks.
- Proven ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during loading or unloading tasks.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory control software is a plus.
- Construction or industrial experience that involves operating heavy machinery or managing logistics workflows is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of shipping & receiving procedures, including documentation and safety standards related to heavy equipment operation.
- Previous roles involving order picking, load & unload activities, or warehouse organization will help you excel in this position.
