Key Responsibilities

Operate heavy equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, loaders, and skid steers

Perform site preparation tasks such as grading, trenching, digging, and backfilling

Transport materials and equipment around the job site

Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and grade stakes

Conduct routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance (fueling, lubricating, cleaning)

Identify and report mechanical issues or safety hazards

Follow all workplace safety regulations and procedures

Work closely with site supervisors, laborers, and other trades

Ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently according to project timelines

Maintain a clean and organized work area

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent





Proven experience operating construction equipment

Valid operator certification or license (requirements vary by region)

Knowledge of equipment safety standards and procedures

Ability to read basic site plans and grade specifications

Good physical condition and hand-eye coordination

May involve long hours, early mornings, or overtime
