About Us
Maplesoft Group is currently seeking a Senior Business Analyst Services for a remote contract opportunity supporting business and technology initiatives across insurance, financial systems, reporting, and corporate accounting.

Position Summary The Senior Business Analyst will play a key role in identifying business needs, improving operational efficiency, enhancing reporting accuracy, and aligning technology solutions with evolving business requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, Product Owners, developers, testers, vendors, and technical teams to define requirements, support solution delivery, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous improvement.
The role will involve creating user stories and acceptance criteria, supporting Agile delivery, facilitating UAT and functional troubleshooting, coordinating issue resolution, and contributing to solution design and root cause analysis.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead business analysis activities for insurance and financial management platforms, including requirements discovery, troubleshooting, reporting, and solution refinement.
- Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure clear communication and alignment.
- Identify and assess business needs and translate them into clear business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria in Azure DevOps (ADO).
- Collaborate with development teams on solution design, problem resolution, and root cause analysis (RCA).
- Facilitate requirement gathering, alignment meetings, and cross-functional collaboration with Product Owners, developers, testers, and business users.
- Triage problem tickets and bugs and coordinate issue resolution with internal teams and vendors.
- Support system upgrade testing and collaborate with business teams to define and execute effective test strategies.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and provide functional troubleshooting assistance to business users.
- Analyze insurance data inconsistencies, financial transaction issues, and reporting challenges and recommend actionable solutions.
- Support financial reporting and corporate accounting enhancements.
- Coordinate deployment documentation, approvals, and implementation activities.
- Contribute to team-level Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and strategic planning initiatives.
- Collaborate with IT architects to support technology roadmaps and solution planning.
- Promote Agile business analysis practices, effective stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Senior Business Analyst within insurance services, investment management, financial services, or a related workplace.
- Strong understanding of insurance systems, financial reporting, risk models, and business processes.
- Demonstrated experience gathering and documenting business requirements and translating them into user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) for creating and managing user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Experience working closely with development teams on solutioning, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
- Experience supporting UAT, functional testing, and business-user troubleshooting.
- Strong experience with Agile methodologies and cross-functional delivery teams.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience coordinating with vendors and supporting system upgrades and issue resolution.
- Ability to work effectively with business stakeholders, Product Owners, developers, testers, and technical teams.
- Candidates must have or be eligible to obtain Government of Canada Reliability Status prior to the contract start date.

Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Power BI and experience working with reporting and data visualization.
- Experience contributing to OKR development and strategic planning.
- Experience working with financial transaction processing and corporate accounting systems.
- Experience creating screen mockups, process diagrams, or other visual artifacts.
- Experience with tools such as Miro or Mural.
- Experience working with insurance data and reporting platforms.

Compensation
Salary Range: $70.00 - $80.00 / hour
