Blue Thunder Construction Ltd. is seeking an experienced hands-on Steel Framing Lead to join our growing construction team. The successful candidate will lead and be a part of steel framing activities on residential and commercial projects, coordinate daily framing work, and ensure projects are completed safely, accurately, and according to drawings and project specifications.

Responsibilities

- Lead and coordinate daily steel stud framing activities on construction site
- Install and assemble light-gauge and structural steel framing systems according to drawings and specifications with the team
- Review plans and coordinate framing layouts, measurements, openings, and elevations
- Organize materials, tools, and work areas to maintain efficient production
- Assign tasks and provide direction to framing crew members and helpers
- Monitor the quality and progress of framing work and address issues as they arise
- Measure, cut, fit, and secure steel studs, tracks, headers, and related framing components
- Coordinate framing activities with other trades and site supervisor
- Identify potential construction issues and communicate them to management
- Ensure the crew follows company safety procedures and maintains a clean and organized work area
- Assist with other construction activities when required to meet project timelines

Requirements




- 5+ years of hands-on experience in steel stud framing
- Previous experience leading or supervising a framing crew
- Robust knowledge of steel framing and general construction practices
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and construction plans
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and framing equipment
- Strong measuring, layout, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to organize work and provide clear direction to crew members
- Ability to work safely at heights and handle construction materials
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
- Reliable, organized, and able to work independently while leading a team
- Carpentry experience is considered an asset

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $35.00-$48.00 per hour
