Job Summary The Certified Pharmacy Technician plays a crucial role in supporting the pharmacist and ensuring patients receive their medications accurately, safely, and on time. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of pharmacy practices, medical terminology, and regulatory requirements, combined with a commitment to delivering excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently.
Maintain complete and accurate patient records and medication profiles.
Process prescription orders, verifying patient and medication details.
Provide medication administration support under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
Educate patients on proper medication usage and address their prescription-related questions.
Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations, standards, and best practices.
Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving,
and stocking medications.
Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare professionals to support patient care.
Supervise and maintain compliance packaging and nursing home prescriptions.
Qualifications
Valid certification/license as a Pharmacy Technician in Nova Scotia.
Previous pharmacy experience preferred.
Solid understanding of medical terminology and pharmaceutical practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction and teamwork.
Ability to work accurately in a quick-paced environment.
Knowledge of medication administration protocols is highly desirable.
Dedication to professionalism, confidentiality, and high-quality patient care.
