Job Duties/Qualifications, Skills and Abilities(QSA)
Job Duties Job Duties The Student Research Assistant works collaboratively with various industry partners/clients to help with their digital needs. This position reports to a Research Manager, however Student Research
Assistant will be a part of a project where additional direction may be provided by different Senior
Researchers or Research Managers. A Student Research Assistant,
works closely with peers to perform literature reviews, write research reports, as well as perform technical needs of the project which may include programming, installing software, creating datasets, cleaning data, and tuning machine learning models.
1. Programming software solution prototypes as defined by our partners/clients.
2. Conducting research and literature reviews.
3. Preparing equipment/materials for field/laboratory operations.
4. Data gathering/entry and maintaining integrity of data collected.
5. Collate data collected and perform preliminary data analysis.
6. Assist in the preparation of project documentation, including proposal progress reports,
technical reports, and user manuals as required.

3. Perform general field/laboratory equipment maintenance duties.
4. Work with others in fostering a cooperative and supportive team setting.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)
1. Must be a student or recent grad.
2. Minimum of completed or currently completing diploma in Computer Science or a related discipline.
3. Preference will be given to candidates with direct experience in AI and ML.
4. Effective problem-solving skills.
5. Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
6. Organizational and time management skills.
7. Ability to work within a team environment.
8. Respects and values diversity.
9. WHMIS and laboratory safety trained or willing to obtain this training.
