Airswift is seeking a Plant Operator to work on a contract basis with a major Oil & Gas client in Bonnyville, AB.

This Plant Operator role is a senior operations position focused on the secure, efficient operation of processing facilities , coordination with maintenance and control room personnel, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

Core Responsibilities
Work closely with the Control Room Technician (CRT) , Operations Supervisors, and Maintenance teams.
Ensure all activities are conducted according to Safety, Health, Environmental, Security, and OIMS requirements .
Monitor and operate plant equipment, including sulfur recovery operations .
Support start-up, commissioning, and systems completion activities.
Review maintenance work packages and verify isolation requirements before work begins.
Act as Area Operator (AO) and, when required, Isolating Authority (IA) for work permits.
Participate in emergency response activities.
Maintain operational logs and shift handover documentation.
Make process adjustments to maintain product quality.
Perform field-based activities, including equipment surveillance, inspections, climbing, lifting, and minor maintenance work.
Promote solid collaboration between Operations and Maintenance teams.

Required Qualifications
20+ years of industry operations experience
Strong operational and technical expertise in process facilities
Advanced understanding of safety management systems
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
Solid interpersonal and leadership abilities
Ability to work effectively in multicultural environments
Commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards
1st or 2nd class power engineering certificate/license.
