This full-time Registered Midwife position is crucial for families across Parksville, Qualicum Beach, and neighboring communities. Situated within Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (NRGH), you’ll join a team of experienced midwives, aiding in approximately 1,200 births each year. Candidates must be fully licensed with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives and have the necessary training and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver comprehensive prenatal and postpartum care to families
• Facilitate home birth options in the community




• Collaborate with obstetricians and pediatricians for patient needs
• Attend and support hospital births at NRGH
• Educate families on childbirth and postpartum topics
Requirements:
• Full licensure eligibility with the BCCNM
• Adequate midwifery education and training experience
• Completion of Indigenous Cultural Safety training within six months
• Experience in both community and hospital midwifery practice
