Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Handyman / Maintenance Worker to join our vibrant retirement home community. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, functionality, and comfort of our residents by performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks. Your proactive approach and technical expertise will help create a welcoming setting where residents feel secure and cared for.

Responsibilities
Perform general handyman and maintenance work
Repair or replace faucets, sinks, toilets, and other plumbing fixtures
Replace light bulbs, lamps, switches, and other basic electrical items
Patch and paint walls and ceilings
Repair doors, handles, locks, cabinets, and other fixtures
Assemble and install furniture and equipment
Perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance
Identify maintenance issues and report larger problems when professional contractors are required
Keep maintenance areas clean and organized




Respond to maintenance requests from management and staff
Follow all safety procedures, especially when working in areas occupied by residents

Experience
Previous experience as a handyman, maintenance worker, building maintenance worker, or similar role
Good knowledge of basic plumbing, painting, carpentry, and general repairs
Able to work independently and solve problems
Reliable, responsible, and punctual
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Comfortable working in a retirement-home environment
Ability to interact respectfully and professionally with senior residents
Must be able to safely lift and carry tools and equipment
