About Inquisitem Early Learning Centre

Inquisitem Early Learning Centre is a newly established, STEM-focused early learning program in Burlington, Ontario. We provide a play-based, inquiry-driven environment where children are encouraged to explore, ask questions, experiment, and develop a lifelong love of learning.

As our centre grows, we are building a reliable team of educators who can support our program when additional staffing is needed.

We are seeking a Supply Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) to join our team on a casual, on-call basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an RECE who enjoys working in a small, collaborative setting and would like the flexibility of casual hours, with the potential for additional or more regular hours as enrolment grows.

Position Overview The Supply RECE will provide classroom coverage when regular educators are absent or when additional staffing support is required.

The successful candidate will be comfortable stepping into an established classroom, engaging with children, following the daily program, and supporting a positive and nurturing learning environment.

The Supply RECE may be called upon to cover:

- Staff sick days and unexpected absences
- Vacation and personal days
- Professional development days
- Additional staffing needs
- Increased enrolment or program needs

Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care and supervision for children in accordance with Inquisitem's program statement and policies
- Implement planned learning experiences and daily activities prepared by the classroom team
- Lead or support hands-on, play-based activities with a STEM and inquiry focus




- Engage children in meaningful conversations, exploration, experimentation, and problem-solving
- Support children's learning and development through responsive interactions and observation
- Assist with classroom setup, organization, and preparation of learning materials
- Support daily routines, including arrival, transitions, meals/snacks, outdoor play, rest periods, and departures
- Provide diapering, toileting, and personal care support as required
- Support children's independence and self-help skills
- Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming classroom environment
- Assist with cleaning, sanitizing, and resetting learning areas
- Supervise children at all times and follow health and safety procedures
- Support outdoor programming and meaningful outdoor learning experiences
- Build warm, respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Communicate relevant information and observations to the classroom team
- Follow all Inquisitem policies and procedures and applicable Ministry of Education requirements
- Work collaboratively with other educators and contribute positively to the centre environment

Qualifications & Requirements The successful candidate will have:
- Registration in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE)
- ECE diploma or equivalent recognized qualification
- Experience working with young children in a licensed child care setting is preferred
- Strong understanding of play-based, child-centred learning




- Interest in STEM, inquiry-based learning, and hands-on exploration
- Knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) and applicable Ministry of Education requirements
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C
- Vulnerable Sector Check as required
- Required health and immunization documentation in accordance with applicable requirements
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to adapt quickly and confidently to different classroom situations
- A warm, patient, responsive, and enthusiastic approach to working with young children
- Reliable availability and willingness to accept occasional shifts when available
