About the Position
Swing Crew Members support the L&G; team in a variety of tasks as directed. Being a member of this small but mighty team means you have all the necessary skills to work in any department, whether its Grip, Lighting, Cable, or Expendables. They are required to be adaptable and can change gears on a consistent basis. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential to the role.
Regular business hours, typically weekdays 8:00 am until 5:00 pm or as directed, located out of our Browns Line location.
A Day in the Life at MBS:
- Pull and ship orders following Lighting, Grip, Cable and Swing shipping processes as required
- Visually check equipment to ensure there is no visible damage, all pieces accounted for and in positive working condition
- Assemble as necessary and test equipment prior to shipment
- Flag and refer defective equipment to the appropriate party, following department protocols
- Conduct all duties expeditiously in a safe and careful manner to minimize damage
- Process work assignments as designated by Assistant Floor Manager or Floor Manager
- Ensure e-Codes, serial numbers, barcodes and engraving on equipment are reflecting company standards, referring issues to the appropriate party, following department protocols
- Perform RTPro functions as directed by Assistant Floor Manager or Floor Manager, could include staging/scanning/printing barcodes, status inquiries, and quality control activities
- Refer RTPro data entry errors or COD orders to the Rental Coordinator (RC)
- Direct customer enquiries/complaints to the RC, Customer Service Representative or Department Head as appropriate
- Identify issues and make recommendations (including damaged equipment on shelf, defective bar codes, internal communication issues, paperwork, customer relations, etc.)
- Continuous knowledge building of equipment (new and historic) including their uses and locations.
We’re looking for candidates who have:
- Experience in a rental warehouse environment.
- Film production experience, related education, or rental house experience is an asset.
- Previous experience in customer service.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Reliable, and available for overtime, including weekends, to support client needs as needed.
- Able to meet the physical demands of the job; maneuver awkward rental gear and able to consistently lift an average of 60 lbs. as required.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy being active while working
- Safe operation of all equipment
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness of all processes.
- Some knowledge of computers, including inventory software, is preferred.
